OHIO RECORDS RESOURCES

Use the right office.
Ask the right question.

Research is easier when you know which record you need. Start with the county and case number, then confirm that you are using the official source.

Clerk and court docket

Use the court named in the case. Look for the correct case number and ask about the records relevant to confirmation, distribution or a balance.

Sheriff-sale record

Match the listed property and sale date to the court case. An auction listing is not a substitute for the subsequent case record.

County office

If a record indicates that funds moved to another office, confirm that transfer rather than assuming the original office still holds them.

Official Ohio statutes

Section 2329.44 — excess payable to debtor ↗

Section 5721.20 — excess foreclosure proceeds ↗

Keep a research log

Record the source URL, date checked, document reference and the fact you learned. Do not put login links or private account information into a QR. If a source is unavailable publicly, provide a reference and explain how the recipient can ask about it.

These pages are research guides, not official county offices, court forms or legal advice. Caliber serves Texas and Ohio from its Houston base.
